Works great. Hasn’t tripped once on a circuit that tripped everyday.

After just a few days, this breaker is now pretty much toast. I’m still giving it a 5 star review, because…well, you’ll see.

I did not use this breaker for its intended application. Instead of installing it in a breaker box to protect against overcurrent, I soldered it in series with some 3000F ultracapacitors to see if I could turn it into a cheap spot welder. The idea was that this breaker would trip in a relatively predictable amount of time, instead of using a bunch of expensive components meant to control high currents.

Well, it worked. Sort of. Not really. I don’t think they expected anybody to blast their breaker with 9,300A every ten seconds for several minutes, and it’s opening slower and slower every time. I expect that if I keep it up the contacts will weld, and my capacitors will explode. So I called it quits.

Giving a five star rating because that little breaker tried so hard to do what I wanted, and I just kept hitting it with 10 kiloamps of current until it was dead. Poor guy.
